Australian Nuclear Research and Education Network
The Australian Nuclear Research and Education Network (ANREN) is a collaboration between university academics and professional staff involved in conducting or fostering research and education in foundational nuclear and radiation science, applications, engineering, and societal considerations. We currently have members from 10+ universities across Australia.
ANREN Annual Meeting
The 2026 ANREN Annual Meeting will be held 9-10 September in Melbourne and online. The event is open to anyone with an interest in nuclear research and education in Australia and cross-sector participation is particularly welcome.

Nuclear and radiation expertise supports the safety, health, prosperity and security of Australia, and ensures our communities can engage in meaningful discussion and informed decision-making around nuclear issues. ANREN aims to grow and uplift Australia’s nuclear and radiation expertise base by working collaboratively to enhance research, education and training in nuclear and radiation science and technology.
We are a trusted source of nuclear and radiation science and technology expertise and education for Australia.
Nuclear and Radiation Expertise
ANREN is open to anyone involved in delivering or supporting university-based nuclear research and education in Australia. Our members include experts in:
- Foundational nuclear science
- Applied nuclear science and radiation science
- Nuclear engineering and materials
- Medical radiation
- Nuclear science / technology policy
Professional staff involved in supporting nuclear research and education for an Australian tertiary institution are also free to join.
ANREN hosts regular technical seminars on nuclear and radiation-related topics, and coordinates meetings with speakers from government agencies and industry interested in communicating with our members.
